…. they were unschooled, ordinary men …. they had been with Jesus …. the crippled man healed standing with them – Acts 4:13,14

Powerful Ministry of Children – 4/14 window

Chinese followupMark 10:13-16 (NIV)
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Matthew 18:4-6 (NIV)
Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble,
it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

4/14 Window

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
(Luke 10:21 NIV)

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, …
(Acts 2:17 NIV)

Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
(Psalm 8:2 NIV)

15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.  16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
(Matthew 21:15,16 NIV)

(children in the Bible)

Examples of Children who served the Lord in the Bible:

John 6:9 (NIV) Jesus feeding 5000 miracles .. a boy’s generosity
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, ….
11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”

2 Kings 5:2-4 (NIV)  Naaman healed of leprosy .. a girl’s compassion
Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman’s wife. She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”
Naaman went to his master and told him what the girl from Israel had said.

1 Samuel 3:1, 10,21 (NIV) Samuel, a child,  received a prophecy from the Lord for priest Eli
The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. ….
10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”  Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
21 The Lord continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word.

Jeremiah 1:4-7 (NIV) Jeremiah, a youth, the Lord  appointed him as a prophet to the nations.
The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
“Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

1 Samuel 16:11-13 (NIV)  1 Samuel 17:33,37 (NKJV) David, a youth, was anointed, & delivered Israel from the Philistines.
11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

33 And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

2 Timothy 1:5; 3:15 ;  1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) Timothy
I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Children prayers, praise and worship are powerful.

Matthew 21:15,16 (NIV)
15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,”
they were indignant.

16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”

Psalm 8:2 (NIV)
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

The children saw the wonderful things Jesus did, they rejoiced in praise,
while the learned chief priests & teachers of the law were indignant !!

Children respond uninhibitedly and spontaneously,
with little fear, in child-like faith.  They believe!
Children who believe in Jesus, have the Holy Spirit (just like adults).

Its always a joy to hear children in their simple, heart-felt prayer and praise to the Lord,
established a stronghold and silence the enemy,

(btw, Jesus was the least bothered by the children shouting praise in His house🙂 )
