…. they were unschooled, ordinary men …. they had been with Jesus …. the crippled man healed standing with them – Acts 4:13,14

Best Bible version

One day, four pastors had a coffee chat.

“I love the King James Version of the Bible,” said one, “for its literary beauty and eloquent use of English.”

A second pastor firmly stood for the New American Standard for its faithfulness to the original Greek and Hebrew text. ”

The third pastor gave his personal favourite, “I prefer the New International Version for its contemporary language and easy readability.”

There was a long pause, as they all looked upon the fourth pastor.
Finally …. he said, “I like my mother’s translation best.”

The others were surprised and asked, “We didn’t know that your mother translated the Bible?”

“Yes, she did,” he replied. “She translated it into her daily life.  It is the most convincing translation I have ever read.  It was through her translation that I came to faith in Jesus.”
